DETERRENCE FOR RESILIANCE AND PROSPERITY
We provide innovative solutions for local authorities to increase safety, resilience and prosperity
Deterrence is the capability of applying preventative measures, that are specially designed, to prevent adversarial escalation of any nature, which may be to the detriment of peace.
Over the last few years, it became apparent that the use of deterrence can be used not only to strengthen defence, it can also be used to tackle threats to public safety and security within a region.
Modern, complex, and ever-evolving threats to public safety and democracy are utilising a growing number of modern culture, technologies, freedoms and generally taking advantage of globalisation.
Deterrence Center considers solutions to tackle threats before they evolve. We develop strategies and tactics form a theoretical, methodological and operational viewpoint.
We merge the quality of academic methodologies and outputs with the dynamic and operational nature of law authorities.
WHY WE DO IT

DETERRENCE FOR BUILDING SAFE AND RESILIENT COMMUNITIES
With the local authorities being a source of safety and security for many people, as well as being in charge of local resources; the ability to be both resilient and agile is crucial.
We provide innovative solutions, insight and perspective on how the moving parts fit together in areas where adversarial actions threaten peace and security in the region.
We curate ecosystems that maximise strengths, outreach and resources, and lay grounds for an effective and efficient deterrence.
Multi-agency cooperation is a key to successful deterrence. Our deterrence solutions are based on multidisciplinary research, analysis, and insight. We provide education and training programmes to inform practice and build capabilities to effectively deal with threats and adversarial actions before they escalate.

DETERRENCE FOR PROSPERITY
Operating in safe and responsive environments is the key for achieving aims and objectives of local authorities. Such environments are also crucial to achieve human welfare, social prosperity, and resource security.
We help to develop deterrence strategies that are focused on pre-emption, detection, analysis, risk assessment and management to build and shape capabilities that tackle threats to the communities and operations of local authorities, before they become actionable. We research, analyse and provide advice and training.
Moreover, we draw on multidisciplinary knowledge, intelligence and operational expertise in order to develop tactics that deter adverse and destructive actors, and prevent the escalation of multi-faceted threats and conflicts on a local and regional level. This often involves multi-agency collaboration, education and training.

MULTIDICIPLINARY
SOLUTIONS
Deterrence Center provides advice on a variety of approaches, tools and training to increase the multifaceted deterrence capabilities on a local and regional level.
We analyse and develop detailed profiles of threats, and propose ways of de-escalation of tensions.
We also tailor a range of long and short term deterrence strategies and tactics are modeled and tested. This modus operandi is an on-going process to ensure that:
-
Capabilities are strong, versatile and resilient.
-
Capabilities of adversaries and their allies are known in advance, and therefore different deterrence strategies can be discussed.
-
The likelihood of escalation is analysed and managed.
-
Capabilities are shaped in order to deter, discourage, or dissolve the threat, before it materialises.
RESEARCH AND TRAINING
Training and research programs are specially designed to expand knowledge and understanding of modern, often hybrid and multifaceted threats; the causes, potential developments and solutions.
The ability to adapt is crucial, and we provide the grounds for not only adaptation, but also for being a few steps ahead. Deterrence Center promotes resilience and encourages the improvement of the ability to effectively deal with contemporary challenges.

Deterrence can be defined as the capability to deter and influence. Well-designed and fit-for-purpose deterrence strategies can prevent and de-escalate threats from within and externally. Deterrence is also capable of shaping relations, but it is there to preserve peace, not to induce conflict.
